Huawei begins fleet-wide OTA rollout of ADS 5 on its new WEWA 2.0 architecture
HarmonyOS Zhixing started pushing the rebuilt Qiankun ADS 5 driving stack to the AITO M5 through M9 range, according to Chinese media reports.
Huawei’s automotive alliance HarmonyOS Zhixing began a mass over-the-air rollout of Qiankun ADS 5, the new generation of its assisted-driving stack, across the AITO M5, M6, M7, M8 and M9 model series, Chinese outlets including ITHome and Sina Finance reported. Huawei has not published an English-language announcement.
ADS 5 is rebuilt on what Huawei calls the WEWA 2.0 architecture, presented at its Qiankun media day in Shenzhen on July 16–17. According to the reports, the update delivers 34 new functions and 23 refinements. On the cloud side, the architecture introduces a “multi-agent game” training mechanism for Huawei’s world model, which the company says raises training intensity tenfold; on the vehicle side, a “safety risk field” model that Huawei claims cuts collision risk by half. The claims are the company’s own.
The reports put cumulative Qiankun ADS installations past 1.9 million vehicles, with three OTA waves planned through the second half of 2026 reaching close to two million cars — a deployment cadence no Western ADAS supplier currently matches.
