Dongfeng fitted Huawei's driving stack as standard across the Voyah Dream 9 range

Dongfeng launched the Voyah Dream 9 with what it calls a full-domain L3-grade architecture on every trim, carrying Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driving system and the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit rather than offering them as options.

Dongfeng launched the Voyah Dream 9 at an event in Beijing on the evening of September 22, in three trims and in plug-in hybrid and battery-electric forms, priced from 419,900 to 529,900 yuan.

The company said the whole range uses a full-domain L3-grade architecture design, bringing together Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driving system, the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit built on HarmonyOS, an 800-volt electrical platform and a chassis system, and it repeated the point later in the release: the architecture and the active-safety systems are specified across the range rather than by trim.

That wording describes an architecture Dongfeng says is designed to a Level 3 grade. It is the company’s own characterization of the hardware and E/E architecture, not a statement that the vehicle has been approved for Level 3 automated driving. The release does not give a sensor count, name the compute part, or date when any Level 3 function would be activated.

Dongfeng’s deputy general manager You Zheng attended the launch, and Voyah chairman Lu Fang was quoted. The event was held jointly by Voyah Auto and China Media Group, the state broadcaster.

Voyah Auto, which is listed in Hong Kong, filed no exchange disclosure covering the launch. China’s mandatory national standard for Level 3 and Level 4 automated driving takes effect in July 2027.

Why it mattersMaking the driving stack and cockpit standard across a range rather than optional moves the software from a trim decision to a platform decision, and commits the whole production run to one supplier's stack.
