Hyundai AutoEver disclosed a $150 million AWS billing contract with Motional
A Korean regulatory filing put a three-year minimum of 202.8 billion won on cloud capacity supplied to Hyundai Motor Group's autonomous-driving company, in a deal neither party announced.
Hyundai AutoEver, the Hyundai Motor Group software and IT company listed in Seoul, disclosed on September 29 that it had signed what its filing calls an “AWS PPA billing services contract” with MOTIONAL AD INC. The disclosure was made under Korea’s single sale and supply contract rule, which compels a listed company to report contracts above a proportion of its revenue.
The filing recorded the contract value at 202,800,000,000 won and stated that this is the minimum amount to be ordered over the term, with actual orders able to vary. It also recorded the conversion it used: the value is the won equivalent of the contract at KEB Hana Bank’s first quoted exchange rate on the contract date, 1,352.00 won to the dollar, which puts the figure at exactly $150 million. That is 4.8 percent of AutoEver’s 2025 consolidated revenue of 4.25 trillion won.
The term runs from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2029. The supply region is recorded as the United States, the relationship to AutoEver as an affiliate, and the payment terms as monthly settlement billed in dollars, with no advance or deposit. The contract date is given as September 28.
Neither company announced it. Motional’s newsroom carried nothing newer than September 8, and the newest release in Hyundai AutoEver’s own press room is dated January 28, 2026.
The contract is not the first of its kind. AutoEver disclosed an agreement of the same name with the same counterparty on November 15, 2023, recorded at 119,277,000,000 won, or $90 million at the rate that filing cited, running from January 2024 to the end of December 2026. This one succeeds it at $150 million and starts three months before the earlier term expires.
