Joyson's design-win book reached 61.5 billion yuan as memory-chip prices cut its margin
The Ningbo supplier's third-quarter report put nine-month new design wins at about RMB 61.5 billion in forecast lifetime value, and said price rises in memory chips and other electronic components added about RMB 370 million to raw-material cost against budget.
Ningbo Joyson Electronic Corp’s board approved its third-quarter report on October 27 and the company disclosed it on October 28. It said new design-win projects secured in the first nine months of 2026 carried a forecast full-lifecycle order value of about RMB 61.5 billion. The company’s interim report in August had put the first-half figure at about RMB 44.9 billion.
Revenue for the nine months was RMB 41.887 billion, down 8.63 percent year-on-year, and third-quarter revenue was RMB 13.796 billion, down 10.98 percent. Net profit attributable to shareholders fell 14.51 percent over nine months to RMB 957.73 million, and 46.98 percent in the quarter to RMB 218.78 million. Total profit was down 25.40 percent over nine months and 50.15 percent in the quarter.
The report attributed the revenue decline to slowing global vehicle demand and to an appreciating yuan, which it said reduced reported revenue by about RMB 1.46 billion. Excluding currency movement and the end-2025 disposal of a weighing business at its listed subsidiary Xiangshan, it put the nine-month revenue decline at about 4.1 percent. Separately, it said marked price rises since the start of 2026 in memory chips, other electronic components and some other raw materials had pushed raw-material cost about RMB 370 million above budget over nine months, of which about RMB 160 million fell in the third quarter. Gross margin was about 17.5 percent for the nine months, down about 0.8 percentage points, and about 17.1 percent in the third quarter, down about 1.5 points.
Joyson said it was negotiating with customers at home and abroad on the raw-material price problem, and that it was continuing to raise research and development spending around intelligent driving, what it termed emerging intelligent agents, and server power supplies as a second growth curve. Research and development expense over nine months was RMB 2.608 billion. The report named no customers for the new design wins and gave no segment split for the order figure, which covers the group including its safety business.
