Aptiv reports $152 million in software and services in its first post-spin quarter

Aptiv reported $152 million of revenue in its Software and Services product line for the second quarter of 2026, in a quarterly report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 4. The comparable figure a year earlier was $137 million. For the six months to June 30 the line stood at $297 million against $270 million.

The disclosure follows a reorganization the company made in the first quarter of 2026, when it renamed its Advanced Safety and User Experience segment to Intelligent Systems and split that segment into two core product lines, Sensors and Compute, and Software and Services. Prior-period amounts were restated to match. Sensors and Compute, the larger of the two, fell to $1,364 million from $1,386 million, leaving the Intelligent Systems segment slightly down at $1,501 million. Total net sales were $3,274 million, against $3,199 million a year earlier.

The same filing recorded a change in how the company accounts for Wind River, the embedded software business it bought in 2022. Following the segment realignment, the filing said, “our former Wind River reporting unit is now managed as part of our Intelligent Systems reporting unit.” Aptiv tested goodwill for both units before and after the change and found no impairment.

The quarter was the first full one after Aptiv separated its Electrical Distribution Systems business into Versigent PLC on April 1, which chief executive Kevin Clark described as “our first as New Aptiv” in the results release. That business is now reported as a discontinued operation for all periods presented.
