Axera Semiconductor reported that revenue from its smart-vehicle business rose 252.1 percent year on year in the first half of 2026, in its first interim results announcement since listing in Hong Kong in February.

The company said it shipped around 420,000 smart-vehicle system-on-chip units in the period and secured 24 new mass-production vehicle model design wins. As of the end of June it had established formal cooperation with 25 carmaker brands, including seven international brands and sino-foreign joint ventures.

Group revenue was RMB 402.3 million against RMB 142.8 million a year earlier, gross margin reached 29 percent, and research and development expenses were RMB 516.4 million. Smart-vehicle solutions contributed RMB 29.1 million, or 7.2 percent of revenue. On-device computing products remained much the largest line at RMB 341.0 million, and edge artificial intelligence products came to RMB 27.7 million.

The unaudited accounts also showed the loss for the period widening to RMB 688.0 million from RMB 562.4 million a year earlier.

Axera attributed the vehicle growth to seizing the window for introducing models before mandatory national standards take effect, naming the technical requirements and testing methods for advanced emergency braking on light-duty vehicles, and the safety requirements for combined driver-assistance systems.

It said the first mass-produced model carrying its flagship M57 platform chip launched in March 2026, that the M97 for advanced driver assistance was brought up on wafer return in February, and that a second such part, the M95, was brought up in July.
