Horizon's Journey 6B won a German group's global platform through supplier neueHCT

A front-view camera module built on Horizon Robotics' Journey 6B took a design win across several models of a mainstream German group's global passenger-car platform, with production from 2027.

Horizon Robotics said on August 25 that its supplier partner neueHCT had won a design award for the HCT Luna front-view camera module across several models of a mainstream German group’s global passenger-car platform. Neither company named the carmaker.

Horizon said series production begins in 2027 and that the vehicles will be sold in China as well as Australia, New Zealand and India. It put the volume at several million units over a three-year cycle.

The module is built on the Journey 6B, the entry tier of Horizon’s sixth-generation driving processor family. The company said the part uses its own BPU Nash compute architecture, supports transformer-class algorithms, and targets Level 2 assisted driving together with active safety functions meeting the C-NCAP, Euro NCAP and European General Safety Regulation requirements.

Horizon said the Journey 6B has been selected by more than 25 carmakers across more than 50 models, and named Bosch, Denso, Aumovio and neueHCT among the suppliers building on it.

The announcement carries a dating caveat. The win was declared by neueHCT, whose own release could not be located, and Horizon’s post describes it only as recent. August 25 is the date Horizon published, not necessarily the date the award was made.

Why it mattersChinese driving silicon has been winning Chinese programs for years; a global platform at a German group is the first test of whether it travels.
