Applied Intuition's Self-Driving System won a national truck program in Saudi Arabia
The California software company and the Saudi state-backed AI firm HUMAIN said they would put thousands of autonomous trucks on Saudi logistics corridors by 2030, running Applied Intuition's driving stack.
Applied Intuition and HUMAIN, the artificial intelligence company owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, announced a long-term commercial partnership on Monday to deploy autonomous trucks across Saudi logistics corridors. The joint release said the collaboration would roll out thousands of trucks by 2030 and described the result as the largest autonomous trucking network in the world.
The technology being supplied is software. Applied Intuition said its Self-Driving System, together with its vehicle OS and supporting vehicle intelligence technologies, would be the centerpiece of the collaboration, delivered through what it called an end-to-end physical AI platform. The company said it has opened an office in Riyadh.
In a companion post published the same day, Applied Intuition said the Self-Driving System is already operating on roads in the United States, Europe and Japan, and that it is running Level 4 trucking with Isuzu Motors.
Neither document disclosed a contract value, a truck manufacturer, a fleet size for the first phase or a start date for the first deployment. Both companies are privately held, so there is no exchange filing that would compel those terms to be published; the absence reflects what the two chose to announce rather than a checked negative. HUMAIN’s own newsroom is behind a consent wall and its posting of the announcement could not be read, though the release carries the company’s dateline and a quote from its chief executive.
