Lucid put Air UX 3.0 on air and priced the older cars' hardware upgrade at $950
Lucid began delivering a rebuilt Air interface over the air on September 29, and told owners of model year 2022, 2023 and some 2024 cars that reaching it requires a paid infotainment processor swap.
Lucid Group announced Air UX 3.0, a rebuilt interface for the Lucid Air derived from the one introduced on the Lucid Gravity. The release carried a September 28 dateline and Lucid’s newsroom dated it September 29; the over-the-air update itself begins on September 29, delivered to all eligible model year 2025 and newer Air vehicles as part of software version 2.11.0.
Older cars are treated differently. For model year 2022, 2023 and some 2024 Lucid Air vehicles, the company said Air UX 3.0 is available with a hardware upgrade, and that the infotainment processor upgrade is priced at $950 in the United States, including installation and excluding applicable taxes. Pricing in other markets was not given. Lucid directed owners to its customer care line for eligibility.
The update itself reorganizes the two-screen cabin. Lucid described a redesigned Home experience on the Right Cockpit Panel built from swipeable cards, new Quick Controls reached by swiping down from the top of the Pilot Panel, faster profile switching, and a PIN-protected process for leaving the Guest profile with six-digit authentication. Navigation gains a dual-screen layout, and drivers can filter electric vehicle routing by preferred charging network, adapter compatibility and minimum range on arrival. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were expanded across the full right side of the Cockpit Display.
Marc Solsona Palomar, Lucid’s vice president of software, said the update reflected the company’s commitment to continuous improvement of the customer experience.
