AUTOSAR said its regional groups are setting up AI synchronization under CONC-AI

The standards partnership's quarterly newsletter, published October 1, said its regional working groups were establishing regular synchronization under a concept group framework to define standardized AI capabilities for coming releases.

AUTOSAR published its third-quarter newsletter on October 1 and used it to describe work on automotive AI standardization that it had not announced separately. Under the heading of organizational updates, the partnership said it was intensifying international collaboration to define standardized AI capabilities for upcoming releases, and that its regional working groups were establishing regular synchronization under the AUTOSAR concept group framework, identified as CONC-AI.

The newsletter gives the initiative three stated objectives: prioritizing core AI deliverables, harmonizing technical concepts across regions, and avoiding duplicate effort. It names a call for experts, AI4AR, as the route for members to take part. No founding date for the group is given, and the newsletter is the first dated AUTOSAR record of the work.

The same issue dates several other items. A release event, R26-11, is set for December 3 as a free virtual event covering the latest release, and the release event for CAPI 1.0 is set for October 26 in two identical sessions. The 18th AUTOSAR Open Conference is scheduled for Munich in June 2027, with abstracts due December 1.

The partnership also said its education and training user group, the UG-ET, had published three new curricula, covering AUTOSAR Classic platform basics, AUTOSAR Adaptive platform basics, and timing and tracing.

Why it mattersAUTOSAR is where the industry agrees what a vehicle software interface is, so moving AI from member projects into a concept group is the step that decides whether AI functions get a standard shape or a per-supplier one.
