Geely Galaxy opened a technical assessment of a cockpit-platform upgrade
A statement reported by ITHome said all 2025 Galaxy Starship 7 cars carry the EO2 cockpit platform, and that the brand has begun assessing whether owners can be moved to EO4.
Geely Galaxy published a statement on October 31 about the head-unit silicon in the 2025 Galaxy Starship 7, reported by ITHome and carried by Sina Finance. SDV Sector could not reach it on a Geely-owned host — the brand’s news page returns no items to a fetcher — so this account rests on outlet reproductions.
As reported, the brand said the Starship 7 was designed around two cockpit platforms, EO4 and EO2, for different levels of assisted-driving capability and released in sequence; a fuller reproduction gives the EO4 platform’s chip as the Dragon Eagle No.1 and says both schemes completed their public product declaration in 2024. The entire 2025 range carries EO2; the EO4 variant arrived in the fourth quarter of 2025 with the new model year, because the assisted-driving experience had not met expectations. Owners had said the car was promoted before sale as carrying a 7-nanometre automotive-grade Dragon Eagle No.1 and that the part delivered was an ECARX E02 — reported by the outlet, not addressed in those terms by the statement. Geely Galaxy said it was “deeply sorry for the confusion caused to users by the different cadences of our technical communication and our product communication.”
For owners asking to move from EO2 to EO4, the statement said a dedicated technical assessment had been started, and that if an upgrade proves feasible the brand would publish its content, cost policy and entitlements. No commitment to deliver it was made.
From November 15, the statement said, the first owner of a 2025 Starship 7 — and only the first owner, with the entitlements non-transferable — receives a five-year extension of the warranty on head-unit components, terms to follow, and two vouchers: RMB 10,000 against a replacement Starship 7, and RMB 3,000 toward another Geely group model. One may be used per order and both expire at the end of 2027.
