Micware split its automotive software group around an SDV platform, effective September 1
The Kobe-based in-vehicle software house fixed the date and the boards for a reorganization that gathers its infotainment, driver-assistance and connected-services work under a single platform business.
Micware, the Kobe-based software company listed on Nasdaq, confirmed on August 28 that the group reorganization it announced in July takes effect on September 1. The restructuring is executed through absorption-type company splits.
Under it, the group’s in-vehicle business consolidates into two subsidiaries, Micware Automotive and Micware Mobility, while its location-information work moves into Micware Navigations, which is renamed Micware Spacia on the same date. The company named two platform businesses that the new structure is built around: DynaPlanet, covering spatial-information infrastructure for AI, and micAuto-PF, which it described as spanning infotainment, driver assistance, connected services and quality assurance for what it called the software-defined vehicle era.
Micware also named the incoming boards. At Micware Automotive, Tomohiro Kitagawa continues as chief executive, Mitsugu Akitsugawa as chief marketing officer and Yoshinori Sakabe as chief AI officer, with Kenta Imaida newly appointed chief technology officer. Imaida steps down as president of Micware Navigations on the same day. At Micware Spacia, Masahide Shigeno becomes chief executive, with Kazuma Naito as chief technology officer and Kazuhiro Muraoka as chief marketing officer.
The reorganization was first announced on July 10 and filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on a Form 6-K that day. No filing covering the completion had appeared on the company’s SEC record at the time of publication.
