Qualcomm's automotive revenue rose 89 percent to $1.99 billion in its fiscal Q4
Qualcomm's results for the quarter to September 27 showed automotive revenue of $1,990 million against $1,053 million a year earlier, while handset revenue fell 26 percent.
Qualcomm reported automotive revenue of $1,990 million in its chip business for the fourth quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, which ended September 27, against $1,053 million a year earlier, an increase of 89 percent. The figures are in the company’s results release, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 4 as an exhibit to a Form 8-K. For the full fiscal year, automotive revenue was $6,004 million against $3,957 million, up 52 percent.
Handset revenue in the same segment fell 26 percent to $5,137 million from $6,961 million, and internet of things revenue rose 4 percent to $1,888 million. Total revenue for the chip segment was $9,015 million, down 8 percent, and company revenue was $10,322 million on a GAAP basis, also down 8 percent. A subheading in the release described the result as the first $2 billion automotive quarter; the table reports $1,990 million.
Chief executive Cristiano Amon said combined automotive and IoT revenue grew 36 percent year over year, and that the company projects revenue outside handsets to grow by more than 60 percent in fiscal 2027, a figure that includes a data center business it expects to ramp. The release also said the semiconductor industry faces higher input costs across wafer fabrication, packaging, memory and other materials, and that Qualcomm is raising product prices in response.
